The PowerHer Conference...A Recap
This past Saturday, Black Bloggers Chicago attended the Power Her Conference. Presented by the Chrysalis program, the PowerHer Conference was an empowering weekend celebrating Black Women. The weekend, held at the Hilton McCormick place featured workshops, shopping and entertainment. Benefitting the Chrysalis Program Center for girls, founder, Asha Ntim, created the conference as a forum for Black Women to explore their place in the world, being mindful of their physical and mental health, learn, grow and celebrate who they are.
The Chrysalis Program fosters growth and transformation through encouraging self-love, integrity, and compassion to inspire success. The festivities began with empowering workshops on self-love, healing and black entrepreneurship. I especially enjoyed the workshop with Love Cork Screw Wine Owner, C. Lampley. She answered questions about starting your own business, the important of knowing not only your business but the business of doing business. It was an informative workshop for women interested in starting their own business. I spent the remainder of the afternoon shopping, meeting other local black owned business owners and interacting and networking with women over incredible food and great desserts. Guest also enjoyed a day party, charity auction, comedy show and gala, hosted by our very own Vice President, Audrey Woodley.
The PowerHer Conference was a beautifully organized, impactful and enjoyable event and Black Bloggers Chicago was thrilled to cover it. For more information on The Chrysalis Center for Girls, check out the Dark Brown Girl’s website by clicking here.
